About

Greg and Denise McHale purchased W.A.Y. (then known as Caribou Crossing Trading Post) in 2012 from Charles and Marilyn Buchanan. At the time they were both working for the Yukon Government and were travelling the world competing professionally as Adventure Racers.

Adventure races are multi-day, non-stop, off road triathlon type events in teams of 4, which require navigating through remote country with a map and compass. Not shy about living a life of adventure – the opportunity to purchase W.A.Y. came up and they thought this seemed like their perfect next adventure. At about the same time as the ink was drying on the closing documents, they found out they were expecting their first child! Their son, Kolter was born the last day of the 2012 season and his sister Yari joined the McHale family in the spring of 2015. Their chocolate lab, Trekker, completes the family.
